A few years ago, most SaaS products introduced themselves with a humble promise:

"Our tool offers a unique service, designed to solve a specific problem."

Today?
The tone has changed dramatically:

"WE DO EVERYTHING!"

The software-as-a-service (SaaS) landscape is undergoing a seismic shift. What began as laser-focused tools solving niche problems has evolved into an arms race toward becoming the next super app. Every product now seems to be on a mission to add more, do more, and become everything for everyone.

Some platforms are doing this through acquisitions—Meta acquiring Instagram, WhatsApp, and others to solidify its ecosystem. Others are mimicking what already works. A classic example: Instagram’s introduction of Stories, directly borrowed from Snapchat’s playbook.

The latest player stepping into this transformation?
👉 Figma.

Yes, the very same Figma that redefined the design industry and nearly got acquired by Adobe in 2023. It’s now expanding once again—this time far beyond UI design and prototyping. The company recently announced a range of new features, and one in particular grabbed my attention:

Figma Sites: A New Player in the No-Code Website Builder Arena

A full-fledged website development and hosting platform—directly within Figma’s ecosystem.

For anyone who's already built complex Webflow projects or explored Framer's sleek animations, this move is… big. While Webflow has long been the go-to for visual web development, and Framer gained traction for its delightful micro-interactions and startup-friendly speed, Figma Sites brings a completely new dynamic to the table: native integration with the design process from day one.

Will Figma Sites Succeed?

We don’t know yet. It’s too early to say if it can dethrone platforms like Webflow or Framer. But the timing is perfect, and the ambition is clear. Designers and developers alike are hungry for tighter workflows, fewer context switches, and tools that scale with their creativity.

Figma already has the audience. It already has the trust. Now, it's going after the last piece of the puzzle: shipping to the web.

What Happens Next?

What’s certain is that this will kick off a fierce competition among no-code platforms. Feature-for-feature comparisons will follow. Communities will debate. Power users will push each tool to its limits.

And Daçe Studio™?

We're just excited to dive in and test what Figma Sites can really do.

Stay tuned—we will be sharing our hands-on impressions in the coming days.
